CMAA Hawaii Chapter would like to Congratulate Chris Takashige on being selected for the prestigious Mehdi Heydari CCM of the Year Award. This National Award is given annually to a CCM who has demonstrated excellence and commitment to the Construction Management profession and is a strong advocate for the CM certification program. During Chris’ time at the City and County of Honolulu, Chris canvassed Hawaii’s architectural and engineering firms, personally meeting with each owner to explain the role of the CCM and gather feedback on how best to utilize the CCMs on City projects. Chris employed a 3-year approach to allow companies competing for CM work to develop and obtain the CCM credential. The City now requires any firm overseeing construction to have a CCM on staff. Thanks to the championing of Chris, the number of CCMs has grown from 8 in 2011 to 61 in 2016. Mahalo Chris for all you do for CMs in Hawaii!
